How Do Ozone Machines Work?

Ozone generators pull regular oxygen (O2) through the chamber and across a high-voltage corona discharge plate system to convert it into ozone (O3) gas. Ozone gas is emitted from the outlet end of the machine and begins to fill the area where the cleaning action takes place. The goal is to flood the treatment area with an overabundance of ozone gas in what is often referred to as "shock ozone treatment".

Ozone is a very powerful oxidizing agent and can neutralize many common odors at the molecular level. If the ozone concentration reaches high enough concentrations it can also treat mold and disinfect entire spaces.
